Takes place of STIN 01.60W001 from 3.1.99

Generally, case-hardened gear wheels are installed in Series 500 engines with Code N52 (engine power take-off at rear with drive flange) or Code N53 (hydraulics pump connection).

This means that there is no problem involved in converting from Code N52 to Code N53 or vice versa.

Information on converting is available in the WIS or the relevant microfiche.

Retrofitting an engine power take-off at the rear (as under Code N52 or Code N53) is not possible, because an additional hole is required in the crankcase which cannot be made subsequently.
