Modification notes
New hose clamps for coolant and heater lines as under new Standard 10223
The new hose clamps transmit greater radial forces thereby ensuring that the seal remains tight at the connecting point longer. Through the effect of the hose clamp's spring band the prestress drops only slightly with the result that tightening the clamp is no longer necessary.
The series-production use of the new hose clamp will take place as of approx. Vehicle Ident. End-No. 1K 340000.
The new hose clamps for the new Standard 10223 (imprint on edge of clamp) with spring band no longer need to be routinely tightened in the workshop. The hose clamp may be tightened in the event of a leakage, but only to a torque of 4 Nm. Excessive tightening could damage the hose material and it may as a result be torn.
In future hose clamp spare parts will only be available that comply with the latest Standard 10223.
