In these engines the "start torque multiplier" (parameter 18) in the engine control module (MR) has increased from 1.0 to 1.3.
The parameter change causes an injected quantity increase during the starting phase. This shortens the engine starting phase considerably. This causes the engine to reach its idle speed more quickly.

Retrofitting:
The parameter change can be carried out using Star Diagnosis as described below.
Time required approx. 10 minutes.
Cost control:
In accordance with guarantee and goodwill conditions.
The parameter change must only be made during customer service or repair work.

1 | Connect Star Diagnosis to the vehicle | ||
2 | Select system detection | Wait until all systems are displayed. | |
3 | Mark engine control system (MR) and select using F3 | Communication with control module is set up. | |
4 | Mark engine control module adaptations and select using F3 | ||
5 | Mark peripheral parameters and select using F3 | ||
6 | Mark "start torque multiplier" (parameter 18) and select using F3 | ||
7 | Enter value of 1.3 and confirm with F3! | Return to peripheral parameter screen. | |
8 | Press key F1 | ||
9 | Ignition "OFF", wait approx. 7 seconds, ignition "ON" | If a communication error occurs at this point, confirm with OK and then switch the ignition "OFF" and "ON" again as instructed by the DAS. "Parameters have been changed, please update control module sticker, confirm with OK" is displayed. | |
10 | Exit DAS again using escape |
