Service Information: Conversion of air drier service from Telligent maintenance to Telligent time maintenance

When "Service due" or "Service immediately" is indicated for the air drier by the maintenance system, erroneous interpretation is possible.Without a detailed check it is not possible to determine whether the service life calculation for the air drier cartridge has expired or whether the display is the result of water in the compressed air system.

In order to avoid this situation, the following modifications have been made

on models 944 and 950 through 954, as of vehicle ident. end no. K 769936 and on model 957 as of vehicle ident. end no. 2Z 932586

the air drier has been changed from "Telligent maintenance" to "Telligent time maintenance" (every 2 years according to maintenance sheet).

For

models 944 and 950 through 954, up to vehicle ident. end no. 1K 769935 and on model 957 up to vehicle ident. end no. 2Z 932585

the air drier is automatically converted from "Telligent maintenance" to "Telligent time maintenance" upon entry into the maintenance system with STAR DIAGNOSIS as of STAR DIAGNOSIS CD 3/02.

It is then necessary to perform the Telligent time maintenance according to the maintenance sheets below.

When the service message for the air drier appears after conversion, the condensed water sensor is always the cause indicating water in the compressed air system.
