Explanation:
XL ("EXTRA LOAD") is equivalent to RF ("REINFORCED"). Your vehicle with these tires also complies in full with the legal specifications without any restrictions and is similarly permissible.
The tire pressures for vehicles with code XA6 (Weight variant 3,050 kg) for a permissible axle load of 1550 kg or 1650 kg on the rear axle are available in your operator's manual, in chapter:

The tire pressures for vehicles with code XG6 (Weight variant 2,800 kg) for a permissible axle load of 1490 kg on the rear axle are available in your operator's manual, in chapter:

For your vehicle, the following tires are fitted as standard at the factory 225/55R17C 109H/T or 104H/T, in other words, tires that are specifically developed for sturdier service on vans, and which have greater load capacity reserves, something rendered visible by the higher load index for the tires (109 or 104 instead of 101).
The use of MercedesBenz approved tires as fitted to your vehicle at the factory (see above) bearing a load index 101, can still be readily used on your vehicle without any restrictions, this has been confirmed in a comprehensive range of test bench inspections and vehicle tests. However, MercedesBenz would like to ask you to replace the tires fitted to your vehicle at the factory (see above), as soon as they reach the minimum tread depth, with a "C" tire with a load index of 109 or 104 and not to replace the tires with ones bearing a load index of 101.
MercedesBenz hereby confirms that the tires fitted at the factory (see above) are adequately safe, even with reduced load capacity reserves, however this does not apply to other tires of version 225/55R17(XL or RF) 101V/H also available on the market.
This is the reason why MercedesBenz has provided tires with greater load capacities, to ensure that even the minimum in terms of safety reserves are met even for tires of varying quality standards as are available on the open tire market.
For your vehicle model MercedesBenz recommends using tire dimension 225/55R17C 109H/T or 104H/T.

The type approval for the vehicle remains fully in effect for use of the tires fitted at the factory (see above). This German version (partly in English) of the EU Approval No. e1*2007/46*0458*08 excerpt dated 15.08.2014 and the Expert Report No. 15-00356-CC-BWG-00 dated 17.11.2015, serve as certified approval for use of the tires fitted at the factory (see above) for the models cited above. The certificate must be printed out in full from the WIS in format DIN A4 (landscape), filled out and it must be carried with the vehicle documents.
The vehicle driver shall carry this German version (partly in English) of the EU Approval No. e1*2007/46*0458*08 excerpt dated 15.08.2014 and the Expert Report No. 15-00356-CC-BWG-00 dated 17.11.2015, and submit it to the relevant authorities as and when requested to do so.
