The certificate should be printed out in DIN A4 landscape format. The certificate is to be submitted with the vehicle documents for installation acceptance. The certificate must be kept together with the registration papers.

Detailed installation instructions are to be issued to customers who install their trailer hitch [AHV] themselves (see Retrofitting and converting special equipment in the WIS, Group 31.10). These must be submitted on final inspection.
The vehicle owner's manual contains instructions for the operation and maintenance of the trailer hitch for the vehicle owner.

On vehicles with engine 654, it is absolutely essential to install a new insulated exhaust gas recirculation line (see XENTRY Portal Parts Information).
