Location
The cushionbag is integrated into the respective seat padding in the reclining rear seat in the rear passenger compartment.
Task
The cushionbag prevents slipping through under the seat belt during a frontal impact if the reclining rear seat is in a fully reclined position.
Function
When the seat cushion is inflated, an increase in upholstery is achieved in the event of a crash and the vehicle occupant is moved to a fully reclined position that counteracts slipping through. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control unit actuates the rear passenger compartment cushionbag squib (2) directly.
