Design | The condenser consists of a coiled pipe and slats in order to have the greatest possible cooling surface. The slats are tightly connected to the pipes to achieve a good heat transfer.
Task | The task is to extract heat from the refrigerant vapor on the inside of the condenser and then allowing the vapor to condense again.
Function | In the condenser, the hot gaseous refrigerant is pressed in from above, coming from the refrigerant compressor. Coiled pipes and slats quickly absorb this heat. The outside air is blown through the condenser, where it heats up and the gaseous refrigerant cools down. While the refrigerant is cooling down to a specific, pressure-sensitive temperature, the refrigerant condenses and is liquified. The liquid refrigerant exits at the bottom of the condenser and flows into the fluid reservoir.
Location | The condenser is located in front of the vehicle radiator. The air volume of the engine radiator is sufficient to cool the condenser. |
