Structure
The transmitter key (7) contains an "electronic key". This contains a FM radio transmitter, a computer chip as well as a battery (button cell).
The following control elements are also integrated:
Lock button (1)
Unlock button (2)
Remote trunk/liftgate release button (3) (vehicles with remote trunk closing or EASY-PACK liftgate)
Panic alarm button (4) (radio remote control with panic alarm)
Indicator lamp (5)
Task
The following functions can be operated with the transmitter key (7):
Lock/unlock central locking system.
Selective: Driver's door and fuel filler flap or socket flap
Global: All doors, trunk lids or liftgate and fuel filler flap or socket flap
KEYLESS-GO start
KEYLESS-GO (vehicles with KEYLESS-GO)
Convenience feature
Remove trunk/liftgate release (vehicles with remote trunk closing or EASY-PACK liftgate)
Panic alarm (radio remote control with panic alarm)
The driver's door can be locked/unlocked with the integrated mechanical emergency key (6).
The communication of the transmitter key (7) with the vehicle takes place via a wireless connection.
The functions of the transmitter key (7) can be deactivated.
The transmitter key (7) monitors the charge level of its battery itself and displays this via the indicator lamp (5).
