Parking systems facilitate the process of finding and selecting a parking space, entering and exiting parking spaces or garages, and maneuvering.
The distance to an obstacle is determined on the basis of distance sensors and indicated to the driver visually and/or acoustically. Active Parking Assist searches for and measures parking spaces, calculates a suitable route and partly autonomously or autonomously intervenes in the driving and control (for example through acceleration, braking, steering) of the vehicle, and warns the driver about critical situations.
Camera systems record the immediate vehicle surroundings and provides the driver with a real time image in the multimedia display. Dynamic guide lines indicate the route followed by the current steering movement.
