Task
The instrument cluster screen control unit represents the output medium for the instrument cluster control unit (IC) (A151). The instrument cluster screen control unit displays the driving and vehicle status for the driver in a graphical way. Here, the displays that have been analog up until now, such as the speedometer and tachometer, are shown as a gauge; the fuel level and AdBlue® fill level are shown as a bar display. The full graph display allows for a better representation of the driver information and the on-board computer contents. The information is displayed in high-resolution and in color.
The instrument cluster screen control unit is integrated into the network via the following bus systems:
User interface CAN (CAN 17)
HSVL (High-speed video link)
Variants
Vehicles with code J6B (Multimedia cockpit):
10.25" full graphics display
Gauge for speedometer and tachometer
Bar display for fuel level and AdBlue® fill level
Vehicles with code J6C (Multimedia cockpit, interactive):
12" full graphics display
Three screen designs:
"Advanced"
"Classic"
"Interactive" (on vehicles with code S1I (Proximity Control Assist))
Individual and variable representation of the contents in three clusters ("Advanced"):
The speedometer with driving information is displayed centrally as a large round dial.
To the left, information related to the vehicle, such as brake pressure, operating temperatures, fuel level etc.
On the right, there are driver-related contents, such as steering and rest periods, telephone book, audio etc.
Bar display for fuel level and AdBlue® fill level
Classic illustration ("Classic"), view like on vehicles with code J6B (Multimedia cockpit).
In combination with the Proximity Control Assists (on vehicles with code S1I (Proximity Control Assist)), the driver can also select an automatic pop-up of an extended "interactive" support graphic. When activating the Proximity Control Assists, the screen design automatically changes to the "interactive" mode.
