Location
The instrument cluster is located in the dashboard on the driver-side.
Task
The instrument cluster has the following tasks:
Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
Evaluation of input factors
Actuation of components
Variable displays in the multifunction display
Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
Direct line
Engine compartment CAN (CAN C)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Direct line
The signals from the following components are read via direct lines:
- Outside temperature indicator temperature sensor (B14)
- Steering wheel gearshift shift paddle (S112) via fanfare horns and airbag clock spring contact (A45) (with code (I75) Leather sport steering wheel incl. steering wheel rocker switch system)
Engine compartment CAN
The signals are read in by the instrument cluster over the engine compartment CAN.
The resultant functions are described in the respective function descriptions.
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Actuation of components
Components are actuated with the following connection:
Direct line
Engine compartment CAN
Direct line
The acoustic warning and information signals and the turn signal indicator click are generated by an internal audio signal generator.
The electronic speedometer is driven by a stepper motor.
Engine compartment CAN
Signals are output via the engine compartment CAN.
The resultant functions are described in the respective function descriptions.
