Operation

The air supplied by the compressor enters connection (1) passes through the filter (10) up to chamber (A), opens the check valve (5) and goes to the reservoirs through connection (21).

When reaching the disconnection pressure, the pressure in the chamber (B) overcomes the spring force (4) and moves the membrane piston (14) up.

With this movement, the air outlet (15) closes and the inlet (13) opens so that the air in chamber (B) could flow to chamber (C), over the piston (12).

The pressure over the piston (12) makes it move down, opening the relief valve (11). Now, the compressor operates in a no load condition, because the air produced by it is discharged to the atmosphere by connector (3).

When the pressure in chamber (B) decreases to a value lower than the regulator connector value, the spring (4) pushes the membrane piston (14) down, closes the inlet (13) and opens the outlet (15). The pressure in chamber (C) is relieved through breather (E) and the piston (12) returns, closing the relief valve (11) and reestablishing the home position.

This way, the reservoirs are replenished until the regulated pressure is reached, repeating the cycle.

Connection to inflate the tires

The connection to inflate the tires can be used after removing the protective cover (6).

When screwing the hose nut to inflate the tires, the valve body (8) moves to the inside and closes the communication between chamber (A) and connector (21).

The air flows through the orifice (7), reaching the tire through the hose.

Note: To inflate the tires, the governor should be in the load position and the compressor working. When needed, induce a pressure decrease in the system to a value lower than the governor connector pressure.

Purpose

Regulate the service pressure automatically in the reservoirs, filter the compressed air produced by the compressor and protect all the system against pressure overload.
