5.01 Compressed air reservoir
6.01 Manual drain valve
a Supply pressure
b Control pressure
Operation
The compressed air from the pressure generating group (DE) is stored by the reservoirs (5.01) that, besides the storage function, have the function of condensing any water in the air.
Water drainage is performed periodically whenever the manual drain valve (6.01) is actuated, which is incorporated into the reservoir (5.01). Its actuation is important because it eliminates the condensed water by the compressed air reservoir (5.01), avoiding damage to the brake system components, such as corrosion for example.
Once stored, the compressed air is consumed from the air tank (5.01) by the various pneumatic circuits of the brake system.
