12.08 Rpm sensor
The rpm sensor (12.08) is mounted in the steering knuckle on the front axle or on the axle housing of the rear axle.
Task
The rpm sensor (12.08) senses the wheel speed.
W42.25-0016-01
Design
The rpm sensor (12.08) consists of a permanent magnet with a round pole pin and a coil.
Function
The rotation of the pole wheel changes the magnetic flux picked up by the coil and thereby generates an AC voltage, the frequency of which is proportional to the wheel speed.
