Arrangement:
Located on the front axle, beside the wheels, vehicle's inner side.
1 Wheel brake cylinder.
B42.10-0302-11
Purpose:
To produce braking force on front wheels of vehicles with pneumatic drum or disc brake.
Structure:
1 Connection of the braking pressure
2 Diaphragm
3 Return spring
4 Rod
5 Piston
A Pressure chamber
B Spring chamber
c Breather orifice
b Brake pressure
Operation:
I Braking position
The compressed air that comes from the service brake valve (13.02) reaches the chamber (A), through the connection (1), and actuates the diaphragm surface (2) producing a force that is transmitted to the piston (5) and to the rod (4) moved by the brake lever (clearance regulator), whereas the transmission of this force is proportional to the wheel brake application pressure.
II Drive position
When the pressure application ceases in the chamber (A), the spring (3) actuates the piston (5) and the diaphragm (2), returning them to their original position. Through orifice (C), the atmosphere air enters or goes out the chamber (B) during the cylinder operation, avoiding the formation of vacuum or counterpressure
