According to the position of the shift lever (driver's intention), the coupling control cylinder turns the hydraulic pressure and the movement of the hydraulic liquid into mechanical force and movement necessary on the clutch shaft.

The coupling control cylinder moves (pulls or pushes) the clutch shaft axially on the gearbox to select the gear.
