N15/5 Electronic selector lever module control unit
Location
The electronic selector lever module control unit is located in the center console.
Task
The electronic selector lever module control unit registers the shift lever positions through integrated Hall sensors, evaluates them and sends corresponding signals over the engine compartment-CAN (CAN C) to the drivetrain control unit (N127).
The following shift lever positions are possible:
- "P"
- "N"
- "D"
- "R"
The electronic selector lever module control unit has the following tasks:
Reading in of sensors and signals
Evaluation of input factors
Actuation of components
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
Direct line
Engine compartment CAN (CAN C)
Direct line
The signals of the Hall sensors for the shift lever positions are read in over direct lines.
Engine compartment CAN
The signals are read in by the electronic selector lever module control unit over the engine compartment-CAN.
The resultant functions are described in the respective function descriptions.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evaluation of input factors
The read in input factors are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the
corresponding components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
Direct line
Engine compartment CAN
Direct line
The right backup lamp (E4e3) (for left-hand drive vehicle) or left backup lamp (E3e3) (for right-hand drive vehicle) is directly actuated by the electronic selector lever module control unit.
Engine compartment CAN
The signals are sent by the electronic selector lever module control unit over the engine compartment-CAN.
The resultant functions are described in the respective function descriptions.
