On rear engine bus models, the electromagnetic fan coupling is fastened by the bearing and coil assembly (13) to the fan pulley support. The fan pulley is driven by the engine pulley and transmits the torque to the rotor (10) of the electromagnetic coupling through the shaft (18). A winged ring (9) is installed in the rotor (10) for the cooling of the assembly.
In the other end of the shaft (18) is installed the flange (3) fastened to the vehicle fan which spins freely on the ball bearing (4). The magnetic ring subassembly (6) with 20 permanent magnets and the anchor disc assembly (7) also spin freely fastened to the flange (3).
The assembly is coupled applying a 24 V tension, its coupling is managed directly by engine electronic module according to the cooling needs.
