Task
Preheating the combustion chamber in order to achieve the required ignition temperature of the fuel-air mixture.
Combustion chamber preheating is subdivided into:
Preglowing
Startglowing (voltage at circuit 50)
Afterglowing
Safety shutoff
If no engine start takes place within 20–25 seconds after start readiness is indicated, the glow current is interrupted by the safety shutoff.
