Cumbustion engine 457.9 with Vehicle 382.15# #D, 634.0## #D with CODE MS5 (BlueTec 5)
W14.40-1204-06
Arrangement
7 Injection nozzle
The injection nozzle (7) is installed on the outside the engine brake throttle pipe.
Task
The injection nozzle (7) injects the AdBlue (proceeding from the metering unit), in the most uniform way possible, in the exhaust gas flow.
W14.40-1092-01
Composition
The injection nozzle (7) is aluminum made. It has a flange, with which it is fastened to the outside of the engine brake throttle pipe. The end of the nozzle indicates the flow direction. The outlet diameter of the nozzle end is 1.5 mm.
Function
The AdBlue flows from the metering unit to the injection nozzle (7) and it is injected/sprayed from the head end directly into the hot exhaust gas current in the engine brake piping.
The AdBlue needs, a certain time of flow, for the AdBlue chemical conversion to ammonia (NH 3). For this reason, the transformation takes place at predefined distance before the SCR catalytic converter.
