General function requirements
Circuit 61 ON
Exhaust gas recirculation (AGR) is active
Common rail diesel injection (CDI) quantity mean value adaptation, general
Quantity mean value adaptation is a teach-in function of the CDI control unit (N3/9), which is used to adjust the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) rate so that the emission levels do not deteriorate due to the tolerances of the fuel injectors (Y76), LH hot film MAF sensor (B2/6) and RH hot film MAF sensor (B2/7).
Function sequence
The CDI control unit processes measurements from the following components:
- Left hot film MAF sensor
- Right hot film MAF sensor
- O2 sensor upstream of CAT (G3/2)
The CDI control unit varies the EGR rate through the LH exhaust gas recirculation positioner (Y27/9) and the throttle valve actuator (M16/6). The residual oxygen content is monitored via the O2 sensor upstream of CAT.
