Function requirements for rpm control, general points
Circuit 87 ON (engine management ON)
Engine running.
Rpm control, general
Rpm control consists of the following functions:
Stalling protection
Idle speed control
Rpm limitation
Load condition
Stalling protection
The purpose of this function is to control the engine speed through torque corrections from the idle speed control. To dampen vibrations in the drivetrain, the torque correction is done through the anti-jerk function.
Idle speed control
The specified value for the idle speed is computed by the ME-SFI [ME] control unit based on the following signals:
Electrical consumers
Mechanical consumers
Diagnosis
Engine protection
Rpm limitation
The ME-SFI [ME] control unit computes the target maximum engine speed and then governs the maximum engine speed.
Engine state
The ME-SFI [ME] control unit computes the engine state from the determined engine speed:
Engine running:
Driving state
Idling speed
