Intake air temperature sensor, task

Records the intake air temperature and transmits a signal to the engine control unit. The signal is used for computing the air mass. The injection quantity and ignition timing are influenced.

Intake air temperature sensor, function

The NTC resistor installed in the intake air temperature sensor changes its electrical resistance corresponding to the intake air temperature.

NTC means Negative Temperature Coefficient; i.e. the electrical resistance becomes less as the temperature increases.
