The next steps are shown on the left component part and must be performed in the same way on the component part of the right side of the vehicle.

Clean contact surface on the D-pillar trim (1) in and around area A.

Stick masking tape generously in and around area A.


This allows for better marking of the cutting lines.

Mark cutting lines on the masking tape.


Observe dimensions (a, b, c).

Cut out D-pillar trim (1) along the cutting lines (area A).

Rework cutting edges on the D-pillar trim (1) with files and deburr.

Remove the remaining masking tape and clean D-pillar trim (1) in the area of the cutout.
