Inspect suspension parts, sealing rings and exhaust rubber mounts for reusability

 Replace components if necessary.

Mark exhaust gas pipes (3) of the series exhaust system

 The trimming line (see arrows) at the exhaust gas pipes (3) is measured as of welding seam of left (1) and right (2) rear muffler. Dimension A = 190 mm.

Place AMG rear muffler exactly above removed series rear mufflers

Mark pipe end of AMG rear mufflers at series exhaust gas pipes (3)

 A distance of approx. 60 mm (overlap) should exist between both markings. If necessary, correct position of cut point accordingly.

Cut through series exhaust gas pipes (3)

 Carefully deburr cut edges.



Install

Attach tail pipe cutout on AMG rear apron (Code (772) AMG styling package - front spoiler, side skirts and rear apron)

 The standard rear apron is not suitable for cutting.

When fitting AMG rear apron from CLS55 AMG (219.376) with the number
B6 603 00 69 or B6 603 00 70 (PTS), no cutting is necessary.

 To cut the AMG rear apron code (772) AMG styling package - front spoiler, side skirts and rear apron it is necessary for the standard paneling bottom section to be removed beforehand and for surface to be cleaned. The new paneling bottom section (with a large cutout) can also be used as a template, see parts ordering notes.

 Sand down cut edges and paint in the vehicle color.

AMG rear muffler preassembled on the standard exhaust system

 Use the supplied clamps for this step.

Install exhaust system as of flange connection

 Install AMG rear muffler with strengthened suspension rings supplied.



Install rear muffler

 Install AMG rear muffler with strengthened suspension rings supplied.



Align and screw down exhaust system

 Ensure that the tail pipes are parallel and have adequate clearance to the rear apron.

Check the whole exhaust system for leaks

Hand over the supplied EG model approval to the customer

 Approval by the Technical Inspection Association is not necessary in Germany! Carry the EG model approval supplied for AMG muffler system in the vehicle.
