Remove/install

Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key

Disconnect ground line to battery

Fold over left backrest or right backrest

Remove cover (2)

Release edge guard (3) in area of sidebag unit (1)

Release side luggage compartment lining (4) using assembly wedge in area of sidebag unit (1)

Unscrew bolt (5) and remove sidebag unit (1) from bracket (6) until the ground connection (7) and electrical connection (8) are accessible

 Bolt, rear sidebag unit to body

Disconnect ground connection (7) from sidebag unit (1)

Release and disconnect electrical connection (8) from left rear sidebag squib (R12/11) or right rear sidebag squib (R12/12)

Remove sidebag unit (1)

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check and erase vehicle fault memory using diagnostic system

When replacing sidebag unit (1).


