Remove/install

Move steering column adjustment to rear

2

Switch on ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)

Disconnect ground line to battery

Insert screwdriver bit into openings (arrows) at rear on steering wheel (2) and remove screws/bolts from driver airbag (1)

Lift driver airbag (1) at steering wheel (2)

Unclip lock tabs (3)

Release and disconnect electrical connectors (4) from driver airbag squib 1 (R12/13) and driver airbag squib 2 (R12/14)

 Removal lever

Release and disconnect electrical connector from multifunction steering wheel

Remove driver airbag (1) from steering wheel (2)

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check and erase vehicle fault memory using diagnostic system

When replacing the driver airbag (1).


