Remove/install

Adjust the driver seat backwards into its final position

Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key

3

Disconnect ground line to battery

Insert screwdriver bit into openings (arrows) at back of steering wheel (2) and remove screws/bolts from driver airbag (1)

Remove driver airbag (1) from steering wheel (2) fold over rearwards until the electrical connectors for the driver airbag squib 1 (R12/13) and driver airbag squib 2 (R12/14) are accessible

Lift safety bracket (3) using suitable screwdriver and push safety slide valve (4) forward

Release and disconnect electrical connector from driver airbag squib 1 (R12/13) and driver airbag squib 2 (R12/14)

Remove driver airbag (1) from steering wheel (2)

Install in the reverse order



Check

10

Check and erase vehicle fault memory using the diagnostic system

When replacing driver airbag (1).


