Remove/install

 Warning

Risk of injury caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units.

Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply.

Remove ignition key from ignition lock

Unclip front stowage box/tray (1), lift slightly and remove toward front

Unscrew retaining clip (3)

 Installation: Pay attention to installation position.

Remove bolts (6)

 Installation: Replace bolts (6).

 Bolt, front passenger airbag to bracket

Remove front passenger airbag (5) from the bracket a little until connector (4) on the right side is visible

Disconnect plug (4) from squib at gas generator

 Installation: Connector (4) must audibly snap in.

 When replacing the airbag unit, ensure proper and environmentally friendly disposal.

Install in the reverse order

Connect diagnostic system and perform quick test

Read out fault memory of airbag (AB) system and delete fault memory
