Warning

Risk of injury caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units.

Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply.Model 690.6

Remove ignition key from ignition lock

Remove driver's seat

Remove cover (5) below driver seat

Unscrew bracket for control units (7) and place to one side with control units

Remove control unit cover (8)

Remove airbag control unit (1) at floor of the driver seat console

Installation: Pay attention to ground line (6).

Release connector (2) (arrow) and disconnect at airbag control unit (1)

Install in the reverse order

Connect diagnostic system and perform quick test

Read out fault memory of airbag (AB) system and delete fault memory

When installing the old airbag control unit (1)

Perform parameterization of the airbag control unit (1)

When replacing the airbag control unit (1)
