 Warning

Risk of injury caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units.

Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply.

Withdraw ignition key

Remove side wall lining

Unclip cover (5) at seat belt guide (4)

Remove screw (6) and remove seat belt guide (4) at C-pillar

 Bolt, belt guide bracket to bracket

Disconnect squib connector coupling (2) and place to one side

 Installation: Pay attention to the routing of the line (arrow).

Remove screw (3) and remove seat belt retractor (1) upwards

 Dispose of defective airbag unit and seat belt tensioner properly and in an environmentally-appropriate way.

 Installation: Ensure correct seating in the guide

 Bolt to rear automatic belt retractor

Install in the reverse order

 Check retaining clips and clamps.

Check seat belt retractor and seat belt buckle for proper operation
