2 | Open trunk lid and use lever (9) to release rear seat backrest (1) in luggage compartment | Installation: Rear seat backrest (1) must latch into place. | |
3.1 | Remove screw (2) for belt end fitting center and remove | Only when removing rear seat backrest (1). | |

4 | Unscrew nuts (3) | ||
5 | Fold rear seat backrest (1) forwards | See Operating Instructions | |
6 | Slide rear seat backrest side upholstery (4) upward and remove | ||
7 | Unplug electrical connector (6) | ||
8 | Unscrew bolts (5) and pry off pivot bearing for outer part of rear seat backrest (arrow) | | |
9 | Detach cover (7) in center of bearing bracket (12) and remove the screw (8) underneath | | |
10 | Fold up clip (11) on bearing bracket center (12) and mark the installation position of the journals (10) relative to the bearing bracket center (12) | ||
11 | Remove rear seat backrest (1) | Installation: Align journal (10) after marking. | |
12 | Install in the reverse order | ||
13 | Perform function check of automatic rear head restraint fold-down facility and correct journal (10) installation position if necessary. |
