Removing, installing

Open engine hood

 Position engine hood to upright position

Unscrew screw (1) from handle (3)

Pull handle (3) out of cover catch and unhook engine hood lock release cable (5) from handle (3)

Remove cover below instrument panel

Press pull grommet (4) in fuse box
(6, arrow) back from inside

 When installing pull grommet ensure that fuse box is seated properly.

Fasten cord or wire on pull nipple of engine hood lock release cable (5) at inside

 Facilitates assembly

Remove cover (7) in left engine compartment

Unclip clips (8) from upper frame cross member

Remove lock cover (9)

Vehicles with air conditioning:Removing and installing front end cross member

Unhook engine hood lock release cable from engine hook lock (10)

Unclip engine hood lock release cable (5) from safety hook (6) and pull out toward front.

Install in the reverse order

 When installing ensure that engine hood lock release cable is routed properly.

Perform function check
