Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the vehicle lift

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove front fender liner in front fender

Remove bolt (1)

Pivot retaining rail (2) toward inside

 Installation: Ensure that pin is seated properly in retaining rail (2)

Pull retaining rail (2) toward rear and remove

Remove outside temperature indicator temperature sensor (B14)

Release and disconnect electrical connector for left, right front fog lamp (E5/1, E5/2)

Release and disconnect PTS front bumper connector (X26/27)

Vehicles with code 220 Parktronic System (PTS)

Remove bolts (4, 5)

Remove lower section of radiator grille

Unclip air grille

Remove bolts (3, 6)

Slightly pull front fender toward outside in area of headlamp

Remove bumper (8)

Install in the reverse order

Check gap dimensions (a) on bumper (8); adjust if required

 If required, correct with adjustment wheel (7).
