Remove/Install

Disconnect ground lead from battery

Do not interrupt main battery current in heater mode or in the run-on phase.

Danger!

Risk of injury caused by body parts being jammed and crushed when tilting cab

Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab during tilting. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure with the safety strut.

Remove auxiliary heater control unit

Remove cable straps (1) and (2)

Remove cap (3) from cable retainer (4)

Fold open cable retainer

Unclip flat plug (5) of chamber nos. 5 and 8 from connector housing (6)

Pull electrical line (7) through to overheating sensor (8) and detach from guide clip (15)

Pull rubber cap (10) from thrust piece (14)

Unscrew the bolts (12).

Slide back thrust piece (11), push spring (13) and thrust piece (14)

Pull overheating sensor with sealing ring (16) out of heat exchanger housing (9)

If the overheating sensor sticks, carefully remove furring.

Remove deposits from housing sealing surface in vicinity of sealing ring.

Install in the reverse order

Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by fuel vapors igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling combustible gases and risk of injury caused by burns during and after operation of heater unit

Do not operate stationary heater, auxiliary heater or engine with heater booster in closed areas or when refueling. Allow heater unit to cool down after operation and wear protective gloves.
