Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Discharge air conditioning system.

Remove power-steering pump.

Unscrew screws (1), pull refrigerant lines (2) out of refrigerant compressor (6) and seal openings using suitable stop plugs.



Compressor oils (specification 362.1)

 Installation: Replace sealing rings of refrigerant lines (2) and moisten with compressor oil.

Release and disconnect electrical connector (3) of refrigerant compressor (6).

Unscrew bolts (4).

Unscrew screw (5) and remove refrigerant compressor (6) upward out of engine compartment.

Install in the reverse order

Initial startup

Commission refrigerant compressor (6).

When replacing the refrigerant compressor (6).



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run, check air conditioning system for proper operation while doing so.
