Risk of explosion caused by welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant.

Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been drained.

Remove/install

Connect air conditioning service unit and drain A/C



 Note down suctioned off oil fill capacity.

Remove power steering pump

Remove pressure line (3) and intake line (4) from refrigerant compressor (A9) and place to one side

 Seal openings of pressure line (3), intake line (4) and refrigerant compressor (A9) using suitable  stop plugs.

 Installation: Replace sealing rings of pressure line (3) as well as of intake line (4) and coat with compressor oil.

 Screw/bolt, refrigerant lines to refrigerant compressor

Remove bracket of refrigerant compressor connector (A9x1) and disconnect refrigerant compressor connector (A9x1)

Remove bolts (2)

 Screw/bolt, refrigerant compressor to bracket

Remove refrigerant compressor (A9)

If the refrigerant compressor (A9) is replaced as a result of internal damage



The expansion valve is also to be replaced

Correct oil level of refrigerant compressor (A9)

When replacing the refrigerant compressor (A9).

Install in the reverse order

Replace fluid reservoir

 Once the refrigerant circuit has been opened, the fluid reservoir must be replaced.

Connect air conditioning service unit and charge air conditioning system


