Drain air conditioning system (recycle refrigerant), evacuate, fill, inspect for leaks

 When filling the air conditioning system, feed extracted quantity of compressor oil back into the refrigerant circuit (use new compressor oil).

Slacken poly-V belt and remove

Detach A9x1 connector

Remove bolts (4), remove suction line and pressure line and place to one side

 Seal openings (parts kit)

Remove bolts (3), and remove refrigerant compressor (A9) downwards

for front bottom bolt

 Before installing a new refrigerant compressor, slowly allow pressure in refrigerant compressor to dissipate by loosening the pressure-side connector cover.

 Replace O-rings (moisten with compressor oil) if the refrigerant compressor was not replaced

Correct the oil level in the refrigerant compressor

Install in the reverse order

 If the AC compressor has been replaced because of damage caused by an internal fault 

 Replace suction and pressure lines together with sealing rings

 Note oil filling quantity on replacement of the lines

Replace fluid reservoir

Switch on the air conditioner and allow the engine to idle for roughly 4 minutes.

 Set temperature selector wheel to blue notches, or with automatic air conditioning set to ""

Blowers to max.

Check air conditioning for proper operation

 The air outlet temperature at the center air vent must not fall below 5 °C, if necessary 

perform diagnosis according to diagnosis manual

Inspect the air conditioning circuit for leaks
