Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of explosion from welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning from inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant.

Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been discharged.

Remove bituminous insulating tape

 Installation: Carefully wrap bituminous insulating tape around the area surrounding the expansion valve (1) and the evaporator connecting lines (5).

Remove bolt (4), and detach suction-side refrigerant line (3) from expansion valve (1)

 Plug openings

 Installation: Use new sealing rings. Coat sealing rings with compressor oil before installation.



Unscrew thrust-side refrigerant line (2) on solenoid valve and detach from expansion valve (1)

 Plug openings

 Installation: Use new sealing rings. Coat sealing rings with compressor oil before installation.



Unscrew bolts (6) from the expansion valve (1) and detach expansion valve (1) from evaporator connecting lines (5)

 Plug openings

 Installation: Use new sealing rings. Coat sealing rings with compressor oil before installation.

Install in the reverse order

 Only attach evaporator unit paneling after the air conditioning has been topped up and checked.

Evacuate the air conditioning system, refill it, and then check the system to make sure that it functions correctly and does not leak.
