Risk of explosion caused by welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant.

Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been discharged.

Remove desiccant cartridge

 Installation: Observe additional oil filling quantity after replacing parts.

 Installation: The desiccant cartridge must be replaced after the refrigerant circuit has been opened.

Unscrew expansion valve nut (1)



Remove pressure lines together with retaining plate (2)

 Plug pressure line openings to avoid contamination.

 Installation: Install new O-rings and moisten with compressor oil.



Unscrew screws (arrows)

 Installation: In order to prevent offsetting of the pressure lines (thereby avoiding damage to the O-rings), tighten screws in an alternating pattern.



Pull out expansion valve (3)

 Seal openings with suitable plugs in order to avoid contamination.

 Installation: Replace O-rings. Moisten threads and O-rings with compressor oil.



Make an incision in the firewall seal (4)

Install in the reverse order
