Risk of injury in the form of trapping or crushing, or even severing of limbs, if caught in windshield wiper mechanism

Always remove ignition key when working on windshield wiper mechanism.

Remove CBS Front

Remove service grill on the right

Remove and install air inlet

Disconnect plug (1) of turn signal lamp

Turn the holder (2) through 90° counterclockwise and pull out of the lamp unit (E1, E2)

Remove protective cap (3) from the lamp unit (E1, E2) and disconnect plug

When replacing the bulb, remove this with the plug connected

Disconnect plug of level control (4)

Mark installation position of lamp unit (E1, E2)

Only when the lamp unit (E1, E2) is not replaced.

Unscrew the nut of the bracket (7) on the lamp unit (E1, E2)

Unscrew screws (5) and nut (6)

Remove lamp unit (E1, E2)

Install

Position outer threaded double bolt (8) in the center of the elongated hole

Screw in adjusting sleeve (10) at the bottom of the lamp unit (E1, E2) and adjust to the adjustment dimension (A)

The adjustment dimension (A) is 6 mm.

Insert and position lamp unit (E1, E2)

Align lamp unit (E1, E2) centrally with the threaded double bolt (8, 9).

Align with the marking if necessary.

Tighten the screws (5) and nut (6) securely

Insert CBS Front and check positioning

Pay attention to even distance of CBS Front to lamp unit (E1, E2).

If adjustment is required, note the correction distances.

Remove CBS Front

Adjust lamp unit (E1, E2) if necessary.

Tighten nut of bracket (7) on the lamp unit (E1, E2) securely

The bracket (7) of the lamp unit (E1, E2) is dispensed with, if the bracket (7) is defective, the lamp unit (E1, E2) must be converted to the new fixing adapter.

Connect the plug of the level control (4)

Pay attention to the plug locking in position.

Connect the bulb plug and insert the protective cap (3)

Install holder (2)

Turn the holder 90° clockwise for locking

Perform function test of lamp unit (E1, E2)

Adjust lamp unit (E1, E2)

Check and correct headlamp adjustment
