1 | Remove left or right paneling from instrument panel | ||
2 | Remove bolt (4) on lower section of instrument panel (3) | ||
3 | Release lower section of instrument panel (3) in area of bracket (arrows) | ||
4 | Unscrew bolts (2) from side paneling (1). | ||
5 | Slightly pull instrument panel lower section (3) toward rear and remove side paneling (1) until electrical connector (5) is accessible. | On vehicles with code (S22) ISO-fix (child seat attachment system) or if front passenger airbag cutout switch (S68/15) is retrofitted. | |
6 | Separate electrical connector (5) | On vehicles with code (S22) ISO-fix (child seat attachment system) or if front passenger airbag cutout switch (S68/15) is retrofitted. | |
7 | Remove side paneling (1) | ||
8 | Remove front passenger airbag cutout switch (S68/15) | On vehicles with code (S22) ISO-fix (child seat attachment system) or if front passenger airbag cutout switch (S68/15) is retrofitted. | |
9 | Install in the reverse order | ||
10 | Perform function test of front passenger airbag cutout switch (S68/15) | On vehicles with code (S22) ISO-fix (child seat attachment system) or if front passenger airbag cutout switch (S68/15) is retrofitted. | |
11 | Check supplemental restraint system using STAR DIAGNOSIS | On vehicles with code (S22) ISO-fix (child seat attachment system) or if front passenger airbag cutout switch (S68/15) is retrofitted. | |
