Removal, installation

1

Remove ground lead from battery

Remove engine cover (22)

Slide spring loaded hinge pins (1) for stowage compartment flap (2) back in direction of arrow and remove flap

Remove knobs for heater/ventilation (3)

 When attaching the knobs do not damage bulbs (4) in switches.

Pull off stationary heater knob (5)

with warm heater stationary heater D5W code H12

Remove nut (6) and washer (7) from blower switch (8)

Remove nut (6) and washer (7) from stationary heater rotary switch (19)

with warm heater stationary heater D5W code H12

Unscrew screws (9)

Pull instrument panel cover (10) forward

 Installation:
Ensure that profile gasket (15) is properly seated on air duct (16). The profile gasket must be pushed on up to the stop.

Separate electrical connectors for switch illumination (11) and pull wiring harness (17) out under cable guides (18).

Remove cap (12) from blower switch (8)

 Installation:
Ensure that catch hooks are properly seated.

Release arresting device (14) on electrical connector (13) for blower switch and disconnect electrical connector.

 Installation:
Ensure that catch hooks are seated properly.

Remove stationary heater rotary
switch (19)

with warm heater stationary heater D5W code H12

 Installation:
Rotation lock: The lugs (20) in the rotary switch must engage in the recesses (21) in the cover.

Remove instrument panel cover

Reinstall in opposite order

Check for proper function
