Danger! | Risk of injury with burns to skin and eyes, risk of poisoning from inhaling fumes when working with shrink hoses. | Work in well ventilated rooms only. Wear safety glasses with side protection and gloves. | |
1 | Disconnect frame wiring harness (1) at rear consuming points | ||
2 | Separate rear wiring harness (1) near front rear spring bracket (2) | Use cable shears to cut cables. Always cut the individual cables at the parting point to different lengths. | |
3 | Remove wiring harness for trailer socket at the same time parallel to the frame wiring harness | With Code E43, trailer socket 13-pin or Code E57, electrics for trailer socket | |
4 | Unclip cable straps and take out old frame wiring harness | ||
| Assembling | ||
5 | Connect new frame wiring harness at rear consuming points. | ||
6 | Repair wiring harness using cable connectors | Use only cable connectors with shrink-fit hose. Select cable connectors to match the cable cross sectcion. Ensure that insulation is of same color when connecting cables. | |
