Remove a small quantity of AdBlue® from AdBlue® tank using the siphon.

See information from body manufacturer.

Place 1 to 2 drops of AdBlue® on prism (1) of refractometer (5).


Ensure that remaining parts of refractometer (5) do not come into contact with AdBlue®.
The refractometer (5) can get damaged otherwise.

Closing the hinged lid (2) causes the AdBlue® to be distributed evenly.

See through the eyepiece (4) against a light background.

Brix scale (A) and AdBlue® scale (B) can be brought into focus by turning eyepiece (4).

Read off measurement value at light/dark boundary of AdBlue® scale (B).

If the AdBlue® concentration is less than the specified urea concentration,

Replace AdBlue®.

Carefully clean any AdBlue® residues from the prism (1) and the hinged lid (2).


Ensure that remaining parts of refractometer (5) do not come into contact with AdBlue®.
The refractometer (5) can get damaged otherwise.

Only use water without added cleaning agents for cleaning.
