Check fuel level sensor

Remove/install

Park vehicle on a level surface for checking.

Switch off ignition

Unplug electrical connector (1) from fuel level sensor (3)

Checking

Determine current fuel volume in the fuel tank

Measure height of the fuel tank and fuel level.

Example:

Height of fuel level 12 cm : height of fuel tank 45 cm  1/4 of total volume.

Attach multimeter with measuring lines fuel level sensor (3)



Measure current resistance of fuel level sensor (3)

 Using the table, compare the read of resistance value with the determine fuel volume.

If value deviates significantly replace fuel level sensor.

Check change in resistance of fuel level sensor (3)

 Detach fuel level sensor (3) by means of a slight left turn, lower vertically by at 50 mm (dimension A) and hold. The resistance value must drop by at least 5 Ohm .

If resistance value does not change, replace fuel level sensor.

Install in the reverse order
