Remove/install drag link on steering gear pitman arm

T46.40-0042-11

Remove

1 Loosen nut (1).

If necessary remove the cotter pin, if the nut (1) is secured with a cotter pin

2 Fit press-out tool (2) and pry drag link (4) off steering gear pitman arm (3).

3 Unscrew nut (1).

4 Detach drag link (4) from steering gear pitman arm (3).

Install

4 Install drag link (4) on steering gear pitman arm (3).

5 Screw on nut (1).

If a self-locking nut (1) is screwed on, it should be replaced.

5 Tighten nut (1) to the specified torque .

If the nut (1) is secured with the cotter pin, it should be replaced.
