Lock nut at ball head

Removing

Jack up vehicle.

Secure vehicle to prevent it moving away.

Remove wheels.

Unscrew nut (1).

Unscrew counternut (3).

Pull off ball head (2) at steering arm.



Unscrew ball head (2) from tie rod (4).



Install

Screw ball head (2) onto tie rod (4).

Press ball head (2) of tie rod (4) firmly into the cone.

 Before installing, clean grease off socket joint and clean contact surfaces on steering arm (arrows).

Tighten nut (1) of ball head.



Fit wheels.

Lower vehicle.

Adjust toe

 To adjust the track:

Loosen boots on tie rods and then fasten again.

Tighten jam nut (3).
