Remove

Open the engine compartment

 The access to perform maintenance and repair works varies according to the manufacturer and the body type.

Remove the acoustic encapsulation underneath the engine

Remove the oil pressure piping (2) from the power steering pump (3)

 Collect the oil that flows in a proper container.
Close the openings.

 Plug

Disconnect the oil pressure piping (1) from the power steering pump (3) and attach it sideways

 Counter support the nozzle in the power steering pump (3).
Collect the oil that flows in a proper container.
Close the openings.

Remove the bolts (4) of the power steering pump (3) in the compressor (8)

Remove the power steering pump (3) from the compressor (8)

Remove the gasket (7)

Remove the nozzle of the oil pressure piping (1) from the power steering pump (3)

Only when the power steering pump (3) or the nozzle of the oil pressure piping (3) are replaced.

 Close the openings.

Remove the nozzle of the oil suction piping (2) from the power steering pump (3)

Only when the power steering pump (3) or the nozzle of the oil suction piping (2) are replaced.

 Close the openings.

Install

Remove the closing plug and screw the nozzle of the oil pressure piping (5) in the power steering pump (3)

Only when the power steering pump (3) or the nozzle of the oil pressure piping (5) have been replaced.

Remove the closing plug and screw the nozzle of the oil suction piping (6) in the power steering pump (3)

Only when the power steering pump (3) or the nozzle of the oil suction piping (6) have been replaced.

Clean the sealing surfaces in the compressor (8) and in the power steering pump (3)

Position the power steering pump (3) with the new gasket (7) in the compressor (8)

 If needed, spin the input shaft of the power steering pump (3) until the gear of the input shaft engages in the gear of the compressor (8).

Evenly screw the bolts (4) of the power steering pump (3) in the compressor (8)

Remove the closing plug and fill up the power steering pump (3) with hydraulic steering oil through the nozzle of the oil suction piping (6)


Fill up the power steering pump (3) up to the entrance bottom edge of the nozzle of the oil suction piping (6).
This procedure prevents that the power steering pump (3) is damaged by starting the engine.

Connect the oil suction piping (2) in the power steering pump (3)

Connect the oil pressure piping (1) in the power steering pump (3)

 Fixing nut of oil pressure tube on the power-steering pump socket

Install the acoustic encapsulation underneath the engine

Fill up the steering system with hydraulic steering oil and bleed the system

Check the power steering (3) for leak-tightness

 Visual inspection.
